There are two options:
- You can go directly by bus to Cherrapunji. Bus ticket charge is about ₹350 per person.

- Private taxi will cost about ₹3500 to drop you at Cherrapunji.
If you do not get direct transport from Guwahati then another option is available. First, go to Shillong by bus, sharing taxi, or private taxi. From Shillong’s Police Bazar, you will get taxis, buses, and sharing taxis to Cherrapunji. It takes about 3 hours to reach Shillong from Guwahati and then from Shillong to Cherrapunji.
If you want to go by train, then reach Guwahati Railway Station first. From there, take bus, taxi, or sharing taxi directly to Cherrapunji or via Shillong.
If you want to go by flight, then you have to reach Shillong Airport by flight. Tourist Places in Cherrapunji Tour
1. Dainthlen Waterfall
Located about 5 km from Cherrapunji. This waterfall falls from about 90 meters height, and the view is very beautiful. The timing is 6 AM to 7 PM.
2. Eco Park & Seven Sisters Waterfalls
Eco Park is good for families kids can enjoy swings, and elders enjoy cloud views and waterfall scenery. Entry fee is ₹10, timing 8 AM to 5 PM. After Eco Park visit Seven Sisters Falls one of Meghalaya’s most popular waterfalls falling from 320 meters height. Monsoon is the best time to see it in full beauty.
3. Mawsmai Cave
About 4 km from Cherrapunji, entry ticket ₹20. You need to trek a little to reach entrance. Inside, you will find narrow and adventurous passages. Timing is 9 AM to 5 PM. Best for children and adults alike.
4. Nohkalikai Waterfall
About 5 km away, this is India’s tallest plunge waterfall (1000 feet). Famous not only for beauty but also for its tragic story of a woman named Likai who jumped from here after a personal tragedy. Best visited during the day.
5. Wei Sawdong Waterfall
Also called Three-step Waterfall, very adventurous and difficult path to reach. You have to climb down wooden stairs. But once down, the clean water and beauty are unforgettable. You can spend 2–2.5 hours here.
Apart from these, you can also visit Arwah Cave and other scenic places nearby if you have extra time.
