  • The distance from Delhi to Dalhousie is about 560 km and buses run till 8 PM which take about 12 to 13 hours to reach.
  • HRTC non AC bus tickets cost ₹800 to ₹1000 per person and Volvo bus tickets cost more. From Chandigarh you also get AC buses to Dalhousie.
  • From Pathankot you get buses as well as shared and private taxis. Shared taxis cost ₹500 to ₹600 and private taxis cost around ₹2000 to ₹2500 to Dalhousie.
  • If you want to go by train then you need to reach Pathankot Cantt railway station which is the nearest railway station to Dalhousie about 80 km away.

After tasting street food you can walk about 1 km to Subhash Chowk. At Subhash Chowk you can visit St Francis Church. After enjoying Subhash Chowk you can have dinner and return to your hotel for rest.

Day 2 Sightseeing

On Day Two you can go to Khajjiar which is about 20 km from Dalhousie. You can rent a scooty or bike from Gandhi Chowk area. The rent is about ₹700 to ₹1000 per day depending on season. Or you can book a taxi from Gandhi Chowk or Subhash Chowk. Taxi charges are about ₹2500 for a round trip to Khajjiar.

Khajjiar is also called Mini Switzerland. It looks like a green meadow with a small lake in the middle. Around it you see pine trees and beautiful valleys. Many tourists come here from all over the world. Khajjiar also has adventure activities like zorbing and paragliding which you can enjoy.

You can also visit Khajjinag temple here dedicated to Lord of serpents built in the 12th century by King Prithvi Singh of Chamba. After this you can return to your hotel.

Day 3 Sightseeing

On Day Three you can go to Panchpula about 3 km from Gandhi Chowk. You can go by rented bike or taxi. Taxi charges are about ₹1000 to ₹2000 for a round trip. At Panchpula you can try activities like zipline and Burma bridge. You will also find many shops here for shopping. From Panchpula you can go 5 km further to Satdhara waterfall. This waterfall comes from seven streams hence the name Satdhara.

It is a peaceful place with less crowd. After this you can visit Bhags park which is built by Indian Army to honor martyrs and mothers who send sons to border. Entry here is free. After spending good time here return to hotel.

Day 4 Sightseeing

On Day Four you can go to Rock Garden located on Chamba road. This is famous for peace and natural beauty. It is a popular picnic spot where you can relax with family and friends away from crowd. After that you can go to Chamera Lake. This lake is located between valleys and looks very beautiful. Here you can enjoy boat riding. Speed boat ticket costs about ₹500 per person.
